Hi,
I have been given an appointment for tomorrow at the immigration to take out temp residency.
Today I have been to the coop bank and taken out 2 years insurance.
I understand I have to take the 2 receipts to the ministry of health to get them stamped before I
go to immigration.
Could someone please tell me where the ministry of health is and what dept I go to.

Thanks

Just to remind me please, how much was the fee (in other words, has it changed amongst all the other changes) and did you have to take two years. As there are hundreds of us waiting for the "call", how much notice did they give you.

Ok, here is my account.

I made my initial application at Famagusta police station on the 7th Feb 2020.

Yesterday morning I phoned the immigration office in Nicosia to find out the
progress and was told my forms etc were there and they gave me an appointment
for today at 12.40. The girl spoke good English. Tel No - 0392 6111088

I then went to the coop bank in Karakum, paid for 2 years insurance and received
2 copies.

Took the 2 copies to the Ministry of Health. They kept one copy, photocopied my
passport and stamped the other copy and gave me that back.
The ministry of health is just along from the immigration and the place you want
has a sign above the main door HASTANELERI VE SAGLA MERKEZELER.
The office you need is called FON MUHASEBE

Then along to the immigration building.
I went to the information desk, DANISMA to make sure I was on the list to be processed.

I got there early but that was my fault so had a bit of a wait but dead on 12.40 my
name was called out and directed to the immigration office.
The whole process then took 20 mins.

I was asked if I wanted the residency stamp in my passport or on a sheet of paper.

My 2 year residency started not from today but from the 7th Feb when paper work
was submitted to police. I did ask about this but was told that is the way it works.

Costs:- 2 years health insurance 764tl
Residency 2 years 897tl
Plus a 20tl stamp

Do all these comments re residency and healthy insurance mean that we can now go to the Police Station in Girne with docs to start the ball rolling? Or are these people those who applied before the lockdown and they are now catching up. I just need to know if we can now go to Police Station etc to start the process.

I would hang on for a little while yet - a new online system is supposed to start in a couple of weeks time, so to avoid any confusion, it might be better to wait until it's settled down...

Had coffee this morning with some people who had just come back for Lefkosia and Health Ministry. They paid cash as requested by KOOP Bank near the GAU and given a receipt. When they got to Health Ministry a very nice lady told them they had been telling the KOOP since February that the price had gone up by 42tl per person. They then had to rush out and find a KOOP bank, pay over 42tl each and then return. System still in a bit of a mess I think. Lady very helpful and apologetic.

Thanks Geordie, got in before me, have only just got back. I wonder just how long it takes for the Koop to get the message? I also wonder if you hand over 382tl, they give you 42tl change.?

Similar to Geordie our friends had been to Kyrenia police station early Feb And called the Lefkosa immigration office last Friday and were also given an appointment on Wednesday but at 10.20. They weren’t seen dead on time and said that immigration was very chaotic but were seen within 30 minutes of their appointment time. However, their two year residency was dated to start from 3rd June!

Seems as though it depends who you see.

Can confirm that one year Health Insurance payment at KOOP bank is 382tl pp per year. I checked and double checked that this was the correct amount where both Lefkosia Health/Immigration people are concerned. It runs from today, regardless of when we receive our residency, which could be an age away!!! Am still not sure what I get for my money, that I didn't get for the last 16 years though.

If you are still looking for directions and know where the Immigration Office is then you are not far away. Instead of turning left at the main traffic lights that would take you down to the Immigration Office go straight thru and take the next left, immediately on your right is a beige coloured government building and the health office where you need to go is to the left of that. It is a single storey white building and I believe now that it has a sign on the glass door informing you that it is a health office. You will have to park up on some waste ground and walk back a short distance.

Isn't that where we used to go when we were selling cars and swapping over logs books and all that kerfuffle or is that on the other site of the waste ground. For 16 years we've plodded our way across that area of land. I do wish someone would tarmac it!!!
