Hi has anyone got a link to the latest instructions on returning as I seem to remember it being announced that after July 1st things were back to normal and no quarantine. I have just spoken to trnc embassy in Germany and they say no it maybe in august but no definite date. I hope it's because he's not been notified rather than changed again.

important is your nationality and departure area.
if you are german, you may can enter TRNC from juli 1st without quarantine, but with PCR test.
greenline still might be closed, so entry maybe only possible at ECN.
if you are eg, british (high risk country), (it seems) also after juli 1st pcr test + quarantine for 14 days on your own cost is mandatory.

Negotiations are going on right now so there are no firm rules out there.
The best hope for UK visitors will be air bridges with safe countries ie UK/Turkey. The UK numbers are going down rapidly so 1st July is a possibility for agreements with Turkey, Cyprus & TRNC but of course politics will play a large part.
I have a flight to Larnaca on 5th July and expect to be able to get to Girne. If not - plan B is to fly into Ercan as soon as the quarantine stipulation is dropped.

Have been told this morning there are some local Brits and locals flying in on Sunday. Is this right, or just a rumour?

Surely it is where you are coming from / residing and not your nationality?
For example, if I am British but have been living in New Zealand for the last 6 months, then surely I am regarded as less of a risk?

i would not make a bet on that.

ok, you want to fly to LCA on 5th of july.. are you sure you can enter the RoC without PCR test and quarantine?
and even if, how do you want to enter TRNC? greenline?
and even if this is possible.. concerning TRNC , as of today, all UK citizens need a PCR test + must go into quarantine, as they are "high risk" rated, same as in RoC.
or are you TRNC citizen?

TA have started flying to LHR and Andaloujet to STN from SAW 1 flight a day but no flight yet to ECN which was meant to be from today.
UK was meant to start after 1st July if the R was still low.
Is it something to do with the British government push for an air bridge

No no, not a TRNC citizen. I am English but do not live there. Was just wondering. I currently have no plans to travel anywhere. Just cannot be bothered with the hassle of flying, tests, quarantine, increased risks catching the virus.....
Shame really because I would love to be in my house in North Cyprus but I think this summer is a no go.

Sophie, yes there is a charter flight for british residents and some citizens planned for Sunday but due to time it's taking to get our clearance from Lefkosia it may now be Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait to be on it no matter which day!
By the way it's costing each expat £865 (350 flight, 515 quarantine).

Perhaps the cars are owned by 'people' who live here...

It seems to me, probably wrongly, that those making the decisions are financially secure enough not to be that affected by keeping people/tourists out. Likewise those that support the lockdown are also financially secure and don't have to try and earn a living to survive.

Earning a living out here is hard enough as it is. I'm waiting to return to work but my job is also reliant on tourists particularly from the UK. It's going to be a hard rest of the year.

6- The Ministry of Health decides which rules will apply when entering the TRNC in relation to passengers coming from an unspecified country other than the three categories above; 7- The Ministry of Health updates these country lists as needed by looking at the changing risk situations in the countries. ”

They have added a few new countries to the list but still lots missing. I find it bizarre that people from New Zealand can not enter yet they are corona free and seen as a shining example of how the virus has been controlled. Also, not one Middle Eastern country on there. I was hoping that Qatar would be included as they are good allies to Turkey and have a low number of deaths / high number of recoveries.

It says (on the link from wanderer) that any country not listed will be decided upon arrival.

Trigger Its your passport not the flight you arrive on
4- As of the effective date of this decision, TRNC citizens living abroad and their spouses and children who are not citizens are not required to have a permanent residence in TRNC; On the other hand, even though they are not citizens of TRNC, their spouse and children are allowed to enter the country depending on the conditions described above according to the country they will come from;
5- The entry of TRNC citizens who will come from the Greek Cypriot Administration as of July 1, 2020 and the citizens of other countries permanently residing in the TRNC, as long as the PCR test, which was done within 72 hours at the first crossing and was negative, are able to enter the TRNC; On the other hand, if it is determined that these people have traveled to another country in the last 14 days, they are allowed to enter the TRNC under the conditions mentioned above, which apply to those countries, from which country they came to Southern Cyprus;
6- The Ministry of Health decides which rules will apply when entering the TRNC in relation to passengers coming from an unspecified country other than the three categories above;
7- The Ministry of Health updates these country lists as needed by looking at the changing risk situations in the countries.

This cannot be right. The PCR states which countries you have come from / been to recently. For example, i am British but live in Qatar. I have not been in England since last year. What good is it not allowing me in to a country because i am British.

I was hoping that Qatar would be included
go here
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
scroll down.. and chose: tot case / 1 m pop
and
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavir ... try/qatar/
still 1150 new cases a day / 2.8 million population, that would be approx 25 k new cases a day for the UK.
how can you expect Qatar not to be a high risk country?
it seems, at the moment, they will be "the very last" to be "lower rated"....
