Range Rover L322 breaking for spares?

Hello All,

This is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of someone breaking a Range Rover L322 for spare parts?

I need to find a rear prop shaft for my 2004 TD6, and my repairer cannot locate one in the usual yards around Lefkosa. Because of the lockdown, he can't look for one down South.

Any help gratefully received, and thanks in advance.

HH

Over the mountain highway from Girne to Lefkosa to the first crossroads descending to the Capital; turn right and continue along a windy road for at least a mile looking out for a large garage on the left side They import range rover parts, transmissions, engines etc. Worth a try.

Hello Brinsley,

Thanks for your reply.

Just to check, before I set off, do you mean the min road from Girne to Lefkosa, and the junction for Boğazköy and Ağırdağ?

Thanks, HH

Hell Brinsley,

Is it called Master Auto?

The main 'motorway' to Lefkosa from Girne, there is a petrol station and a row of shops one being Lemar on the right. That crossroads turning right then keeping left going inland. It was sometime ago and all names escape me.

I hope so, but if not successful there, try the car breakers on the main drag from the large statue Lefkosa roundabout heading towards Ercan Airport looking out for the car yards on the right, continue until a convenient exit to U-Turn back on oneself and drive slowly heading back as the entrances are straight off the dual carriageway. I'll come with you if you so wish to navigate however, my classic car does not like climbing mountains so will be a passenger only. I live central Girne.

Hello Brinsley and Keithcaley,
My apologies for my late response to your replies.
I've decided to leave matters in the hands of my repairer for another few days. He has contacted Master Auto, and the other garages on that road, today, and none can help with the prop shaft.
If he can't find a replacement by next Wednesday, I'll go out looking in the yards on the road to Ercan myself.
The annoying thing is that he had the car in for suspension repairs, and I asked him to investigate the clunking noises coming from the transfer case. He suggested leaving matters to take their course, as he thought that the transfer case had some life left in it. However, it failed three days after I got the car back, and broke the prop shaft as it seized up.
Not much more that I can do now, as sourcing a part from the UK would take months. I think that the car will be out of action for some time, possibly permanently. :-(

There is a very good 0n-line network of scrap auto spares dealers in the UK, and there's no reason that you can't get it shipped out here - goods are still being shipped back and forth even if people aren't!

Thanks Keith - hopefully we'll find one soon, whether here, in the South, or in the UK.
