Dame Vera Lynn died today aged 103. Well done BBC for a 10 minute Eulogy headline. Makes a change to 30 minutes of Covid.

There are calls now for a statue of her to be erected in her memory on the rather apt "White Cliffs of Dover".

There are also calls for her to be given a state funeral, but with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic they don't know where and they don't know when.

Mmmmm, Lord Carson in 1935 and another for Winston Churchill in 1965. If you look at what actually constitutes a State Funeral, it is quite impossible with Covid-19. Early next year a state memorial service in St Pauls or Westminster Abbey, more likely I would have thought.
