Heard this breaking news live on radio 4, Adana is the offending area however, perfect recycling factories outside Istanbul not used, instead sent to the South for burning or dumping although much of the plastic waste was perfect for recycling in the UK, though 'signed-off' as legally disposed of?!

Have watched the report twice and still not sure which country is to blame. UK for sending it OR Turkey for accepting it when they know the don't have all the facilities for recycling their own stuff!

That article did flag the issues but as far as I can see it did not document or highlight the dumping and burning of UK originating waste by the roadside in Turkey...

Looking at yesterday’s UK news, it is probably because UK beaches are full of rubbish now so they have to send it to other countries and leave the problem up to them!
