I usually get it from the fish place across from Starling near the old illeli, he has not had any for a few weeks though. He does do a rather nice alternative- Amberjack, it’s nice and meaty and bbqs very well, sorry not sure on price.

gripon, I go to the same place as IPMAN, great couple of guys in there. Yes they do sometimes have fresh tuna (they had an absolute whopper before lockdown and had chefs from the 5 star hotels bidding for it) but sorry I can't help with price though. They speak fluent English and love to discuss "fish" in general.

gripon and IPMAN the fish shop has changed somewhat in the last 10 days. Went in this morning and shop is having a re vamp with different guys in it. Fish not so well displayed (I suspect this is temporary until workmen finish) but they have doubled their self service area (there are four tables and chairs instead of two) The plate of freshly cooked calamari that was being taken to a table looked and smelled absolutely wonderful, talk about crispy batter!! Its not another fish and chip shop I hasten to add.

Yes they have great fish in there. Salmon is particularly good and reminds you of how good salmon is before the farmed stuff took over. Skate is rarely seen fresh but often in the freezer and is very good value.
