You can get 40% off the "actual fare" but not everything else, taxes, surcharges, etc.

The Ad that people in UK picked up didn't even mention Miles and Smiles, just said any NHS worker valid for all next year as well. Didn't actually see it myself though. Seemed somewhat over generous to me.

Looks to be bit of a PR stunt. Reading through the posts on HUKD it doesn't seem that generous.
