Hi I do not know if there is any expertise here but Dr Huseyin Kalgay is a very genuine excellent orthopaedic surgeon & would point you in the right direction if there is one he works from Kamioglu Hospital in the afternoons.

Just before lockdown my husband had a new knee at the American Hospital on the South. The surgeon has worked in USA, now - or at least did - flies between Athens & Nicosia & specialises in knees & spines. His approach to prosthetics is engineering based using the advantages of modern technology so he might be an option worth exploring. Even if we cannot go South yet, your leg could! Dimitris Lyras

Good luck!

This is the third time in three weeks that I've heard of glowing reports about the orthopaedic department of the American Hospital in the South. They must be doing something right. Worth a call. We've had treatment and advise from hospitals down South and I must admit we been very impressed and treated extremely well. On one occasion we were advised to go down south by a Dr up here but that was before there were as many private hospitals as now.

Hi Sophie yes we normally go South I had an operation last year at the American but a different department - it just seems so much more professional, they keep your records, speak perfect English & the doctors stay there for years so you have continuity.
Goodness knows when we will be able to go over again!
