The Immigration Service has issued an announcement to foreigners who have a visa in TRNC. In the announcement; For the foreigners who come to TRNC with a tourist visa and whose visa expires after March 13, 2020 due to Covid-19, in the Covid-19 epidemic process, Chapter 105, the Residence Permits and Visas (Amendment) Regulation made under article 20 of the Aliens and Immigration Law it was reminded that the period given to foreign nationals who had made a visa and entered the TRNC with a visa was extended by 120 days between 13 March 2020 and 11 July 2020. Since the Covid-19 outbreak process is still ongoing, the visa period previously issued to these people under the regulation was extended until 10 August 2020. In this context, foreigners whose visa expires will not be punished between 13 March 2020 and 10 August 2020 and will be deemed to be on leave from the competent authority.

Maybe they will extend it permanently, like it used to be in the good old days before the BRS butted their nose. (Sorry couldn't resist it).

It would certainly save us a lot of ridiculous unnecessary time and aggro. Just charge us a sensible figure check we are legal not criminals they know the people of reasonable standing who have lived here long term and contributed.
