Bright slow moving...

...flashing object.
I am almost too scared to post this in case I am labelled a crank, but here goes....
At around one fifteen am this morning, I noticed a tiny but extremely bright flash in the sky. The flash kept repeating approximately every ten seconds and was travelling almost due east. As it moved further away, the flashes became less bright. By one twenty-five am the flashes became difficult to make out and with that, vanished. I have to assume by the flashes getting dimmer, the object was moving away from the earth. If a commercial flight (Which it definitely was not) travel's at an average of five hundred and fifty miles an hour, I would estimate the speed it was travelling at would be one fourth of that speed, so in those ten minutes it only traversed a small part of the sky.
Before any wise cracks: I had not been drinking or smoking anything nasty. I am of sound body and even more so of the mind and definitely not sleep walking
The question is, did anybody else by any chance see it?
