I know that people will be sick and tired of hearing this, but we're going to have to get used to living with this virus.

Even if they didn't allow anyone in at all legally, you've got the issue of illegals - asylum seekers/immigrants landing on remote beaches, smugglers crossing the Green Line illegally (a thriving business, so I'm told!) not to mention lovesick lotharios nipping across to see their girlfriends - it only takes one of them to infect 2 or 3 others, and then those 2 or 3 go on to infect others etc.

At least the TRNC Government are doing their very best to control the legal flow of visitors, although any system devised and operated by Human Beings will never be perfect.

...and as 13roman58 says, what will it be like after Bayram? - all those BBQs, family gatherings and so on...

Follow the government advice which is repeated constantly on Turkish language TV - Keep your distance - no hugging - no kissing - wash hands frequently - wear a mask - do not touch your face - eyes, nose, mouth, and basically treat everyone who is not in your household as though they are a covid-19 carrier!

If you look like getting 'crowded' in a queue or Supermarket, hold up your hand and say "Mesafe" (Meh Sa Feh) - meaning 'Distance' - you can stick a "Lütfen'' (Loot Fen) meaning 'Please' on the end if you want to be especially polite, but the locals will definitely know what you mean, 'cos they're getting the message constantly aimed at them, even if they don't appear to be taking a lot of notice

Spot on Keith every country has to learn how to live with the virus. Total isolation as some on this board seem to wish for is not a sustainable option. Common sense and care are the planks for moving forward.
What a series Hill Street Blues was, a ground breaker in its day.

Once went to Hill Street in LA, all a bit of a let down really and the white drive (sorry but there it is) was worried about me being there and hung around until I'd taken a couple of pics and got back into the cab. He didn't charge me either.

Hill St. - I still have a couple of episodes on betamax tape - sadly my beta machine has given up the ghost, but apparently all series are available on dvd . Also, the precinct station was/is actually Maxwell Street Precinct House, located at the junction of Maxwell Street and Morgan Street in Chicago. here......

Yes Jofra, sorry I should have made that clear, I just asked to be taken to where it was filmed. I wasn't even a great fan, it was just one of those gawping at LA sort of holidays. To my everlasting shame, I even went on one of those awful "Look at where the stars live" buses. !!!

You need to contact a moderator or Soner directly, they don't read every single post on the Forum!

Maybe the forum needs a new category or two, maybe banter or insults which would perhaps help to keep threads informative rather than certain people trying to score points. I must admit I have visited this post so many times now only to find so called banter bouncing back and forth rather than any interesting input. Yep the op should contact Soner to have it blocked, it is not serving any helpful purpose anymore. Just my opinion of course as an absolute party pooper.
