We’ve got a solar panel system that has always worked brilliantly until recently. It incorporates a Sunny Boy and has a remote controller.
Unfortunately the remote controller has thrown a wobbly and has decided to tell the inverter that it as run out of power when it hasn’t, and then cuts off and leaves us without power in the middle of the night.
We’ve been in touch with the installer who agrees it’s a fault in the remote control, but weeks later we’re still waiting for him to come and replace it. To say we’re not happy is an understatement, we’re having to use the generator every night to ensure it works all through.
Does anyone know an installer who deals with the sunny boy system who we could go to?
Any advices very welcome, thank you.

Perhaps take the remote to Tetan they might be able to repair it for you worth a go

Have you tried new batteries in the remote?
Low batteries cause weird problems in TV remotes....

Try ringing the installer and bending his ear every day - and in the middle of the night!!

Well, unfortunately some people do just need a bit of nagging before they get their arses in gear!

Don't be reticent, it'll get you nowhere!

Your man may well have ordered you a replacement thingy, and be waiting for it to arrive from China or wherever, but it would be nice to know...

of course i do not know what exactly is installed.. but (also) an off grid system should work, if properly programmed and no-one "played around with the settings", without a remote controller.
maybe it is a bigger problem?
