Went into Karaoglanaglu Tempo a couple of days ago and the shelves were half empty, hardly any staff and the delicatessen counter was closed. A friend said the same thing about the Catalkoy branch so it appears that they may be going to the wall. Does anyone know anything?

They have both been empty for a very long time. They do stock up on some stuff but not the entire store. Odd.

There was a discussion on the forum about this last year - see here, which included a comment from Deniz1 : -

"a turkish friend contacted the owner yesterday and asked if they are closing. Definitely not he said. My fault he said I have been in england and havnt sorted the orders out. Is he the only one who can do it? Anyway he says the Pork shop will be open again soon and the stores restocked."

The situation doesn't seem to be any better now though, does it?

Perhaps he's stuck in the UK...

We have to be careful what we say though don't we?. Its like a walking skeleton in K. No meat on the bones it and been like it for 18 months of more. Lord only knows the age of some stock. Manager of K branch is now the Snr Manager in the large Illeli in Alsancak.

I believe he was head hunted after winning the cleanest supermarket in TRNC award. It was certainly uncontaminated by food and customers.

I think he has lost that position now, (Moderated)

One of the cashiers has left and gone to Eron supermarket, she said Tempo was finished and had left before it closed.
