Shopping in the South

Does anyone have someone who is doing some shopping for non-perishable items from the South?

I am about to run out of a few items. Even Lidl would be a start!

I am happy to pay towards time, fuel, insurance, etc. No rush!

Thanks

Yes, very misleading title!! Yesterday I heard there is someone who is prepared (for a price) to do some shopping. £20 per person I think but its only second hand information.

Price will depend on number of locations and items requested.

£20 a person is cheap. I have a list of people that have peed me off over the years

OK can I buy two Canadians please. Whenever I've met Canadians I've always liked them. Need a few bits and pieces doing around the house so handy ones preferably.

For £20 I would want a new person not a second hand one.

I think new people are £50. I had a very disappointing new Brazilian once. Made terrible coffee and couldn't even play football.

Very funny, you know what I meant!! The fact is, it would mean adding a further £20/£30 to your shopping bill and as far as I'm concerned there is nothing down south, that I need that desperately.

Never had a Brazilian although I have had a short back and sides.

Try sourcing the items you need in the north hardly anything you cant find and it supports local business.

That's the one I forgot. Damn you for finishing off my joke :)
I'm probably being a bit unfair to write off a country as coffee, football and female (generally) topiary.

On the same wavelength I always have a vision in my mind of someone opening up a Hawaiian restaurant.
A blend of Polynesian, English. Spanish history fused with the culture of Americas no doubt would be the jargon.
You'd have to ask as you were bought up some dish that you'd never heard of, no pineapple chunks? :)

How much for a bag of McDonald's sausage McMuffins? Box's of Oats So Simple sachets? Good orange juice from Alfa Mega? Lidl Crunchy Breakfast Cereal? Lidl Ciabatta bread? A tire repair outfit from Superhome? A litre of good full fat (3%) fresh milk? You can tell we live high on the hog!!! For all the above we used to go across maybe once a month of course we also bought all sorts of "It's shiny and I want it" items but the money is better in my bank than pay for the car insurance, just for starters.

Wonder what will happen post Brexit if they will let the UK passport holders into the South so long as they don't spend more than 30 days there without a visa? Guess some magical Green Line or Covid rules will come into play and UK citizens won't be allowed over the Green Line. It must be costing the South business by now and all because they are stubborn and foolish. What a shame but no hurt for us.

I have not got a clue as to why all subject headings after mine have the word “shooting”

As you can see from my photo, my subject heading states “shopping”

It could have been 'Shouting'.

Some headings (above each post) state "shopping" and some state "shooting"

PM'd mods so it might get sorted.

Just curious to test if a reply to a post with the subject set as
"Re: Shooting in the South"
produces the same, or morphs to
"Re: Shopping in the South"
.

Tested. My reply post retains the original subject heading.

Logical really.

Were I to reply to one of the posts with the subject reading
"Re: Shopping in the South"
then my reply post subject line would read the same.

“Schlepping” according to the Del Boy guide to Yiddish slang means to move or carry something heavy.

A more respected version;

schlep
/ʃlɛp/
INFORMAL•NORTH AMERICAN
verb
gerund or present participle: schlepping
haul or carry (something heavy or awkward).
"she schlepped her groceries home"
(of a person) go or move reluctantly or with effort.
"I would have preferred not to schlep all the way over there to run an errand"

It appears individuals, when continuing a post, can alter their own subject heading, within a topic.

I did it deliberately, as I presume so did ETS.

That’s a hell of an accusation and I’d point you to the new defamation law! ;)
