I understand the reasoning behind the 6 planes a day limit is to ensure that the passengers on one plane can be PCR tested, processed and cleared from the airport before the next plane arrives.
If a plane arrives before the previous set of passengers are cleared, then the new arrivals have to wait on the plane until the staff are ready for them.
Bear in mind that they only have two trained nurses on staff at the airport at any one time!
If they can get more trained staff, they may well increase the throughput, and thereby enable more planes and passengers per day.
It's strictly a safety precaution.

Would be useful to know what airline and airport in Turkey and what times these flights would depart. There would then be a chance of getting a PCR test within the specified timeframe, booking a flight from the U.K. to Turkey with a reasonable connection time onto Ercan.
Understand the reasoning behind the decision but throws more confusion into the mix. I can see PCR tests not being valid if you leave the U.K. and are stuck for many hours in Turkey trying to get or are waiting for a connection to Ercan.

Would you prefer that they let in larger numbers of people despite the lack of resources to ensure that they can do so safely?
I would agree that they should do everything in their power to safely increase capacity, but I can't argue with the principle which is currently guiding their actions.

I can understand peoples frustration, but agree 100% with KC, I would much prefer fewer people come in (but thoroughly tested and safe) rather than more people coming in with money to burn, but possibly unsafe to do so.

My issue is how can all these passengers test positive on landing yet they had a negative PCR to fly.
We and few others had to do 14 days quarantine because of a passenger sitting next to us who tested positive at Ercan.
About time they brought in the QR code so they can be verified that the tests are actually negative.

Because no test is 100% accurate, so that even if the disease is sufficiently developed, you may still get a proportion of 'false negatives', and also because of the stipulation of testing 72 to 96 hours before arrival, the disease will have had at least another 3 days to develop - possibly 5 days.
That's why they do another test on arrival, and then random testing towards the end of the 7 day isolation.
Multiple testing makes up for the inadequacies of the basic test, it's not perfect, it's not ideal, but it's all that we've got!
