On my travels East side of Girne, I have noticed a lot of un-emptied bins and bin bags piling up alongside of them. Also the "garden" and other items rubbish outside of peoples properties is not being collected either. Does anyone know it there is a problem?

In some parts of the country, areas have two emptying days a week, in others only one and it certainly makes a difference. Also householders are very often loath to purchase their own personal bin and would prefer to dump them in the vicinity of someone else. In our area I find the Belediyesi come round and take away garden rubbish about once a month, longer if there is a Bayram.

We live in Catalkoy and our bins have not been emptied this week for some reason. Normally they would be twice a week. Will go in and enquire as something is wrong because normally our Belediyesi are very good.

I think the bin lorry must be broken as we had a small truck collecting our rubbish today.

The main big bin ha been emptied today and we followed the bin lorry as we were going down to the coast road. Well done and thank you . What a job in this heat.

We have gone from twice a week collections to once a week, was on Thursday then Friday this week Saturday at 3 am.

We had no collecting this week in karakum

Still no bin men for 2 weeks ,what's occuring?

A visit to your local Belediye I suggest, they'll have a better idea than people on the forum.
