Does anyone know if it worth repairing a Samsung TV that keeps cutting out. The volume is still going but the picture is black.

If it works normally for a while, but then keeps 'cutting out' intermittently, then the fault could be something as simple as a soldered joint that has 'aged' and needs to be re-done.

Of course, it could be something more complicated and expensive - the only way that you will know for sure is to get a TV repairman to look at it and give you a price.

At that point, you can decide whether you want to spend money or buy a new one.

As a rough guide, you shouldn't spend more than 25% of the cost of a new TV on fixing an old one!

- and if it's a very old TV, then 10% might be a more sensible limit

Hay Pem in Alsancak (0pp0site Green Petrol) has a workshop and Field Engineers who do home visits.

Açdınc in Ozanköy may do home visits, but I'm not sure.

I think so, he sorted someone's satellite dish out - have you got his 'phone number though? - 'cos I haven't!
