Is it a registered charity or a business?

Check the bottom of their leaflet in original post, it says non-profit charity.

Actually I asked the question because I couldn't see the charity number at the bottom of the picture in the post where it says Non-profit charity. Usually you would still find the registered charity's number.

You dont get a charity number in Cyprus, so no, you wouldnt usually see a charity number anywhere. If a charity in Cyprus provide you with a charity number, then it's fake.

Taskent Nature Park has been approved to be set up as a non profit charity by Board of Ministers on September 1st, 2016 with order no H(K-1)864-2016 under the Chapter law 113 section 20 and was subsequently printed in official government newspaper and came into effect (sorry for poor translation of technical terms)

As a top tier non-profit charitable organization, donations made to Taskent Nature Park by companies are tax deductible to the maximum extend allowed by the tax office.

Thank you for your interest and allowing us to clarify.

Thanks for clarification on Charities in NC

So would it be better described as a non profit organisation rather than a non-profit charity ?

Direct translation of what we are called is 'non-profit charitable organization'.

In Cyprus, you can be a non-profit organization and NOT be a charity.

We are a charity, so you can call us non-profit charitable organization or non-profit charity.

---

In order to be a charity, you work needs to be in the public interest. There aren't too many of us in Cyprus. Tulips, SOS Childrens Village and Taskent Nature Park are a few.

If you set up a bird watching society/organization for example, you can be non-profit but you do not become a charity.
