Look at your blue log book, it has the date of registration in TRNC on the front.

When you put the date in use the calendar - Year First then Month then Day! Verification Code is not case sensitive and you can "Renew" if you get it wrong. The big one to watch for is that site uses "Predictive Text" so check everything twice or three times or just chance your arm and hope you are lucky.
It is working!!!

No laptop and a tablet
Which are you using? - and you didn't mention what 'type of 'tablet' you are using - Android? (what version?) - Apple? (what version?) - or what type of laptop - IBM compatible or Apple?
I'm on a 'normal' laptop (which is classed as being the same as a PC) and picking the date off of the calendar icon to the right of the 'input box' using the 'left mouse button' works fine on mine. You are in TRNC I take it?

email them with the details you believe it to be and they will write back within 24 hours, I have done at least 10 now for people after they have not been successful and found them to be very responsive. One car stated it was not on the system and they supplied me with a registration date i could not even see/find on the Kocani but it worked and i could tax the car for my boss.

Hi snd
That is a thought, but let's see if we can get to the bottom of this first for Michelle - you know how I like to solve problems...
If we can't get it to work for her, she can always follow your advice!
How
IS 'the Boss' by the way?

I was getting a similar response when I tried to do my MOT online. After a dozen or so different messages ranging from date format, car registration, verification code I asked Mike from BRS. He told me that it would be because they are on strike and to try again in a few days.

Could it be that you’ve had a new passport since registering the car? Happened to me so had to put old passport number in to get it to work.

Our Road Tax is due on the 1st of Oct. I submitted a query today on the same web page and the details of the owner/vehicle came straight back as correct! I clicked on the left hand side to pay the road tax and was informed that there was no tax to pay as yet. It is an automated system so even if the staff are on strike it all still works. However, you won't get any reply to emails till they come back to work - automation only works so far - lol.
When you input the verification code then it IS case sensitive so it must be in caps - you must check what you put in because if you have Predictive Text enabled on your system it will change it to a word that it likes and not what you have put in!!
Don't forget the "P" in front of your passport number either, common failure that one.

You can not pay it before the due date I am afraid - no matter what you do it will not let you pay - wait till the 1st and then it will be easy!

In the 14 years that I've been here, it has never been possible to pay your car tax ahead of the due date, not even by one day.
This has been discussed on this and previous forums, and the general concensus is that it's in case the Tax goes up - they want to make sure that they get the full amount from you

Send a txt to 1300 giving Full name on car Kocan
Reg number and email you will get a response straight away That's you car registered
Log on
Reg no capitals no spaces
Passport number starting with a P no spaces
Date of reg use box at end of line for calendar
Input code

Well, I paid for my MOT on-line last week, and I fully intend to pay for my car tax tomorrow, I don't see why you would have any difficulty, once the tax is actually due!
Just follow all of the advice that you've been given.

Thanks Keith I've just found the problem and it wasn't my details as such afterall. It would appear that my passport number on my residency permit is wrong. It contains an extra digit! I was only using that because my passport has gone to the UK for renewal. Looks like a trip to immigration when I get my old passport back.

Email them. Take no notice of this stuff about having to register by text message. You do not have to. I didn't and managed to tax a car and motor bike but I did have to email them because each time it failed. First time because the date on my logbook is the day after they have it as registered and second time with the bike it had to be taxed in my wife's name not mine as it is in joint names but has to be done in hers. Each time I had to email them to find out what the issue was and each time they replied in a short space of time and sorted it for me.
If you still are struggling then rather than look for an answer on here just email them. That is why they put the email address out there.

Just renewed mine for the first time online.
This is the procedure.
https://online-vergi.gov.ct.tr/gvdos_on ... 396c74a6f7
How to pay for tax disc.
You can only pay for it on, or after the day it is due, NOT BEFORE, you have 1 month to pay for it, or charges start.
Write your plate registration in CAPITAL LETTERS without spaces. ***** Type P********* in the passport number. (This is your ID Number from your passport used at first registration), assuming your passport was used for the initial registration, this ID number will always stay the same from when the car was first registered.
If you write **/**/**** (Date FIRST registered), Use the calendar to put the date in, Year, first, then Month, then Day. Not today's date, you can then login to the system.
Verify with the code at the bottom to prove that you are not a robot.
On the LHS, the first option should be to pay tax, click on that, and follow the process.
When you have made payment, an option will come up for you to download, and print.

Give them time Michelle. They did respond to my two queries but one was a couple of days later. Failing that try again. Seriously sometimes a little patience is required here which I admit I have had to learn myself. I am not suggesting you are not patient and I understand how frustrating it all can be but I can only be positive from my two dealings in this respect.
I wish you luck with it and hope it is sorted soon.

This laptop -v- tablet business is getting to be a real pain. i.e. I wanted to sign up for a national UK daily paper and getting nowhere when it came to payment page. I Skyped the HO to learn that I couldn't receive issues on laptop but I could on tablet or smartphone.

It really is Sophie. There are so many nowadays who use tablet for everything and don't have laptop, and some like me, who much prefer using laptop. My tablet is mostly used for listening to music and reading books. I find it such a pain not to type on a real keyboard. I did invest in a keyboard for the tablet, but it's just as much of a pain, being so small.

Straightforward enough, print out the receipt and the job's done!

Just done my MOT, tried all weekend would not accept my details.
Tried this morning, straight through, same details. I think the system goes down and there is nobody about to reload it.
IT here is crap, I can't understand why they don't farm these simple DataBase programs out to European companies. They would be written quickly, tested and would work.
