Firestick Remote Technical Query

We usually switch our TV on using the firestick remote as that is what we watch most often. Yesterday my husband switched the TV on using the button on the side of the TV as he was watching F1 on our dsmart box. We then switched over to the firestick using the TV remote and all seemed well until I wanted to change the volume and it would not work. I tried all of our remotes and none of them would do the volume so I ended up switching off the TV and unplugging the firestick hoping to reboot it. That resulted in the remote not working at all.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I googled but most fixes involve pressing and holding buttons on the remote which obviously don't work. It could possibly be the batteries so if I change them then switch everything on should that resolve the problem? If not, what else can I try please?

Have you tried downloading the Firestick App to a Smart Phone or Tablet ?

I used it all the time as the Firestick remote seems to eat batteries.

Went to a MAG box in the end, much better.

Press the home button, go to settings, scroll across to Equipment control, select auto or manual , hope this helps.

I was going to but reviews said it doesn't always work and you have to keep logging into the app.

This happened to me too. Press the home button down for 10 seconds and it should reset.

I worked perfectly on my iphone and ipad..

No logging in it just finds your firestick automatically.

You have to go on a waiting list. Another marketing ploy by poor old Amazon no doubt.

Good price though.

Back up to £49.99 now. Wonder if £29.99 is their new sale price or if they will go to £19.99 during the black Monday sales.
