Naturally this will refer to the internationally recognised South/Republic of Cyprus, but as Turkey is also on the quarantine list, this won't make much difference to those flying from Ercan....?

Hi Jofra it applies to North & the highly infected South .

The Turkey bit of the flight quarantine would not apply as you are transiting(I think)
but now irrelevant because of the quarantine in Cyprus
If I remember correctly the Foreign office" avoid traveling to only essential travel" bit means that your travel insurance is invalidated if you now travel to Cyprus ok if your stay is already in progress with a termination date within the policy terms

Britain has announced that passengers traveling from the north and south of Cyprus are required to stay in home quarantine for two weeks. In the statement made by the British Transport Minister Secretary Grant Shapps, it was informed that the decision will be implemented as of 04:00 on Sunday. Customers who were in transit spent 90 minutes in the airport had to do 14 day isolation but as you say now Turkey and Cyprus are on the list it's the same

Waddo, couldn't agree more. I wouldn't set foot in the UK for all the tea in China. A very dangerous place to live and that's just Covid!!
