I saw something the other day about people standing at their doors to observe the two minutes silence today. Only thing is I don't know if that is 11am our time or 1pm UK time. I think it is the least I can do as a sign of respect for all those who have served but I want to get it right.

Thanks Saintsfan that is what I was thinking as we would normally watch it on the TV and then observe the silence.

While I was still serving, it would always be observed at 11 am local time, but nothing wrong with matching the U.K. 11 am if that is what would mean more to you.

The act of remembrance is the important part, timing is less critical, in my opinion.

Lead Pathfinder in Bomber command at 21 flying M for mother mosquito with a multinational crew. shot down twice, ditched once all while a very young man.
Awarded DFC at 22 with his new Zealand navigating officer.
He survived the War and taught English in Cyprus for 15 yrs.
Died of cancer 1987.

We owe so much to those who are no longer with us, and the diminishing few who are, who fought (and served in other ways) in both world wars - how different might the world be, and how many of us would be here without them?
