President Ersin Tatar visited Teknecik Power Plant and Çatalköy Industrial Zone, which was affected by bad weather conditions and the resulting hurricane, and made a case study. President Tatar said in a statement to the press that there is no electricity in Kyrenia due to the problem experienced at the Teknecik Power Plant, a great danger has been overcome, but the works have started immediately and the works are continuing to give electricity as soon as possible. President Tatar said that “It is our consolation that there is no loss of life” and that he visited the Çatalköy Industrial Zone and that the workplaces there were damaged due to the tornado, but it was our biggest consolation that there was no loss of life there. President Tatar pointed out that there is currently feverish work everywhere and that the Karpaz Region is also experiencing difficulties due to the flood disaster. Noting that he had contacted the relevant mayors, President Tatar announced that he would visit there tomorrow morning and make observations. President Tatar shared his wishes of getting well soon, expressing that he would work to reach out to those who were harmed within the means available to the state. Stating that the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Economy, the Head of the Civil Defense Organization and the Director of the KIB-TEK have also been working on the subject, President Tatar thanked everyone who managed the process due to the disaster in the best way.

Grateful thanks to KIbtec for working in dreadful conditions to restore power.

I am also impressed that Mr Tater took the trouble to visit some of the worst affected areas. In comparison, not so awful it seems here in Karsiyaka, but still pretty scary to see debris flying overhead including what turned out to be a sheet of corrugated metal about 1.5 metres long! Slight damage to my car caused by a flying metal garden chair.

I agree, well done Kibtek!
I'm sure the infrastructure damage was extensive and so it was such a pleasant surprise when I switched the light on this morning and there it was! They must have worked very hard to get us up and running again.
Thank you Kibtek!
