With a large ex service population here, I am surprised that NAAFI hasn't thrown their hat in the ring.

Well in case anyone is interested, the Naughty Ladies shop in Girne has recently closed down, so perhaps Girne loss is Esentepe gain.!?

Whoever, fingers crossed they are more welcoming than the other nearby supermarket who seem to think customers are intruders disturbing their comfy life.

It is a trait here that when new service businesses open for the first time full of gusto, enthusiasm, adhering to customers needs and wants, wains very quickly relying on 'regulars' after the 'honeymoon period' has faded reverting back to normal lazy non-caring attitudes losing their customer base who have gone elsewhere. The consequences are that they go bust and wonder why?!

No reflection on 'Gul', just a general observation over the decades of how many new enterprises failed with a 'here today, gone tomorrow, quick buck' mentality.

Yes I do jayseebee. It was the best stocked and best laid out supermarket at the time, but suddenly the staff started to lose enthusiasm, fruit and veg quality slipped, European brands gradually ceased....... and there it was gone.

Seems to be off to a very good start.. Well stocked with keenly priced fresh goods as well as non-perishables.
