Once was enough. Scared the bejeesus out of me. Others might not find it quite so iffy, and in those days I did have a much higher tolerance than I do now and still it "did what it did".

Allegedly it contains wormwood the Latin name which led to the β€œAbsinthe” title for the drink. It is evidently quite toxic in large doses but you would most likely collapse in a drunken heap before you took in enough to harm you. I believe it usually has a higher ABV than most spirits.

There's an absinthe bar in Berlin in the old eastern part, very pollard with arty types and young ladies.
It served through a silver spoon with holes in it and full of sugar tastes ok but not my tipple
Prefer feur zambale.

From Wiki -
"Feuerzangenbowle (German) is a traditional German alcoholic drink for which a rum-soaked sugarloaf is set on fire and drips into mulled wine. It is often part of a Christmas or New Year's Eve tradition. The name translates literally as fire-tongs punch."

Yes that's the stuff it's served all winter in Berlin and is a lovely but potent drink. I brought some kits back with me last time I've sugar cones are the hard part to find.
