Sorry, yes west.

Not the first time lots of positives there earlier in the year.

Has anyone been contacted by the authorities and told to self isolate after contract tracing has been completed?

I remember first time round there were several who were supposed to have caught it but it turned out they hadn't. Be aware of the rumour mill.

Three positive cases in alsancak, 60 direct contacts, believe it came from the chest department from the general hospital in Lefcosia .

I can personally confirm that person's have been traced through contact tracing and removed to government quarantine. Two of those have now been confirmed positive and moved to hospital.

Yes and no. Stems from Blue Song contact.

Not blue song ,now 6 from lefcosia state hospital,

positive test on a staff member at Jessics Bar.

I can confirm the above. If you been in there for any reason at all, get yourself tested. We're going this morning.

Sophie, as far as im aware, you have to go to hospital for civid tests. State hospitals have a bit of a queue. 150tl in near East karakum, straight in,

Yes flowerfairy, we went yesterday, straight in and out (A and E department) results today - Negative.

Just remember folks, hospitals are full of sick people!

Just reiterating what Laura said above, the advice from the UK government is as follows :

If you have been informed that you are a contact of a person who has had a positive PCR test result for COVID-19, you must stay at home and complete 10 full days isolation. Your isolation period includes the date of your last contact with them and the next ten full days. This means that if, for example, your last contact with them was at any time on the 15th of the month, your isolation period ends at 23:59 hrs on the 25th.

Do not go to work, school, or public areas, and do not use public transport or taxis.

If you develop any of the following symptoms: a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), you should arrange to have a PCR test for COVID-19.

It is very important that you follow this advice even if you feel well, as symptoms can take up to 10 days to appear from your last contact with the person who has tested positive for COVID-19. This will help protect your family, friends and the NHS. Self-isolation protects the most vulnerable in society by reducing the chance of spread of COVID-19 in the wider community.

Thank you come_on_aylin. Far more detail than I knew but very important. I don't know if the test centres here are checking on length of time since contact etc but people could be having tests too soon and then assuming themselves to be clear.

Yes, that's the main concern. Even with a negative test (lots of false negatives too, apparently) individuals should still self isolate as mentioned above otherwise they could be spreading it.

Thanks COA. Makes sense to self-isolate for 10 days to a fortnight if you know you've been in contact with a person or place where there have been positive results, then get tested.

For the first time ever, I was at the state hospital in Girne yesterday, and was surprised no name/tel no taken there, they do take your temp. I did feel sorry for the cheery guy on the way in, he must be run off his feet chasing after people.

It was nice to see a cashier in Erdener tell one guy to pull his mask up over his nose.

Being in the service sector here l am tested every 14 days at Dr. Suat,they are very efficient and being a registered employee we don't pay.

Oh well, negative test (didn't mind paying my 150tl) at Dr Suat for next day result and now back behind closed gates for the duration. Thankfully the sun is out, just like a Spring day. Freezer stocked up together with the gin bottle. What will be, will be.
