Does anyone know if it's possible to do this in Iskele, and if so, where?

Yes it's on the road where the police siation is just before the medical centre

If you want to avoid the mayhem in Girne, can anyone go to Iskele or is that considered a trip too far in these pandemic days?

I've no idea Sophie. This is my first renewal of driving licence, but I live in Tatlisu, so Iskele is far closer than Girne or Famagusta.

Update.

Went to Iskele Vergi Dairesi this morning, and it is the place on the Google maps link. Application forms are only in Turkish, but I had downloaded English version to my phone (don't have a printer), so set about filling it in, then was called through with form part completed.
I handed over my licence and he asked for the application form, which he completed for me, also asked for passport and photo (just one). Then it was just a case of paying for whatever period you want. Issued me with a slip of paper and told me to come back in a month.
All very quickly done, took about 10 minutes.

There didn't appear to be any parking that I could see, but there is a car park on the other side of the road which was empty, a short walk away.

If you look at the Google maps link and zoom in, you will see the car park, which is to the west of the Vergi Dairesi on the map. You enter by turning into the street Bekirpasa Sk. Don't even think of parking in the medical centre next door to the Vergi Dairesi, it was bedlam, and I only wanted to turn round to get back to the empty car park.

Just a word of warning to those, especially if you have to travel a good distance, about going to Iskele for car stuff/driving licence. I spent 50 mins waiting in a queue yesterday first thing, 1 inside, 2 people in front of me, nearly lost the will to live. There was only 1 person on duty. Goodness knows what the folk in front of me had to do, but I was in and out within a minute picking up my new driving licence.
