Re: Earthquake
I have lived here since 2006 and have felt a few tremors in that time. But that one was the biggest yet. Wherever the centre is i hope everyone is ok.

It was just outside Pyla on the south side apparently 4.8 on the scale so not a small one. No reports of any injuries or damage yet.

Re: Earthquake
5.1? so maybe the centre was Famagusta, hope everyone is ok. It certainly shook my place near Esentepe. A bottle of rum was shaking and making it's way towards the edge of the worktop. But i managed to save it. Just having a couple now with a spot of coke, purely to calm my nerves of course.

Never felt a thing! Was in the garden and the dog slept through it as well. Maybe it doesn't affect us lot half way up the mountainside?

Yes, we felt it in Alsancak. Hubby was sleeping and I said, 'Gosh, the house is shaking', he awoke and thought I was dreaming. No Darling the earth was moving!!!!

Re: Earthquake
Remember one around July 2003 just off North Cyprus the sea was so high & strong waves for days after. It was probably a tsunami which we had never heard of in those days.

Re: Earthquake
I never felt a thing either but then we are quite high up. Sort of feel lucky but cheated at the same time. Having said that over the last couple of years I guess we have had enough excitement in Catalkoy with a lightening strike on a disused hut that burnt out, a near miss with a missile and a nearby ammos store exploding. Nice to have something other than Covid to talk about for a change though.

Re: Earthquake
Wait till next month when the snow hits our bit of the mountains - wonderful to see but makes me glad that both my wood stores are full - lol.
