Does any one known where I can catch fish off the Esentepe coast area please? Tried a year or so ago but have never caught anything. If not Esentepe anywhere where it's certain to catch em. Thanks

Best place I have found - and nowhere is that good - down from Esentepe onto the main road and turn right towards Tatlisu, there is a small harbor opposite a little holiday village and restaurant about 1K down the road on your left hand side. Just past there before the first corner is a turning off to the left. Up along that stretch of coastline seemed to be the best a couple of years back. If not there then the Esentepe fishing harbor can be good at times but not when the wind is from the West! There were some good spots just off the old road but most have been built on now and getting to some of them is dodgy in the winter.

My TC buddy tells me that the further out towards the Karpas you go then the better it gets! He told me to take the old road and look for locals car's parked in odd spots then get on your feet and go find them - he won't tell me where he goes but has been promising me for the last two years to take me with him - lol. I have tried all the trusted and tested baits available and made up some of my own, sometimes they work and mostly they don't. It is very hit and miss out here and "Good" spots are closely guarded secrets I am afraid but if I find one, I will let you know!! I do enjoy using Google Earth to look for deep spots and sandy bottoms and have had a bit of success with that using the UK methods of casting out as far as I can then sitting with a book and a beer in the summer. Catching them close in use a roach pole affair and for distance I know for sure you need a boat but that is beyond me, I am a lazy fisherman who prefers to cast and kip - lol.
