The health minister has stated that 21 days lockdown / curfew are needed to control the epidemic.
After 47 cases up to last night an additional 21 cases this morning !
Those positive cases HAVE to give up their contacts,
contacts have to stop hiding .

President Tatar has asked the population to adhere to the covid 19 restrictions
Do not hide, report to the relevant authorities, it is your civic duty.

Yesterday, the interview with the health minister doesn't make for any optimism.
He reported, again, the increase in new cases, most of them 'local' More into intensive care unit and that it's not appropriate to open up, although health and the economy are important but health takes priority.
Not looking good.

Stop asking and start demanding certain protocols. Politeness gets nowhere. That has been proved in England.

Noticed on the news that Pilli had given out the figures for individual places - such as Catalkoy = 1 positive, etc. Much better than just giving out totals for regionals I thought. Now you know where to stay away from!

Well when they give out the figures for Girne and it includes everything from Bahcelli to beyond Lapta it doesn't narrow it down much.

I think they will continue to the end of the month if the figure do not improve drastically. It isn't just about the numbers and it spreading, it is about the ability for the hospital and especially ICU to cope. Once they are overwhelmed the figures will rise quickly. If only some people would understand that it isn't about their freedom and more about the need to control the figures in order to protect us all and get the Country back to some sort of normal.

The supreme committee for infectious diseases are meeting today at 12.00.
They are expected to recommend an extension to the lockdown.

It's called moving the problem.

When you go to Government offices and they seem bewildered by your problem and your very presence and tell you come back next week?

Do you;

A. Think "great, they are really going to dig into my problem and when I arrive next week they'll have a full workable solution. I fully expect that I will not only see the person I saw this week but he will be accompanied by an expert who is fully conversant with my problem and a solution."?

Or

B. They have no idea what they are doing. But maybe if I come back next week I might luck into someone who has half a brain cell or maybe with luck the problem will sort itself out in the next week?

62 positive cases, 2 from abroad, 48 new local cases 10 from contacts.
The $£it just hit the fan.
Reinfection rate 1.5.

Stricter enforcement of not moving between areas would help imo .

Revised rules, my interpretations
Lockdown extended to 10th in all areas.
Workers who have to travel between districts have to have a PCR test
Only nuclear family members allowed (good luck with that one)
