Next week we'll probably have a craving for sauerkraut and bratwurst, washed down with steins of beer.

I've heard the main problem with the Chinese jab is an hour later you want another one.

And start putting towels on your own sun loungers

Did mine. as well today with the better half. Rocked up for 9 am and sat in the sun with well spaced chairs. Had an early ticket No 7 and decided to change some Sterling at the Coop Bank. Joined two queues and hoped they wouldn’t clash,
It appears they were waiting for the vaccines to arrive so there was a hour or so delay. managed to achieve both money first and then the jab. Walla. Good result.
Just a point we had to take passports and proof of residency. Does this mean if you have no residency you don’t qualify for the jab.

Went yesterday well before the appointment time. As already said the vaccine did nor arrive until around 10am, dont know why but no big deal. My only quibble was that some people turned up without an appointment but were still given a number to receive the jab. This seemed to stop but it looked very apparent that one ore two turned up had a quiet word with staff , they didn't seem to have an appointment but were put in straight away. But all in all it seemed to work well so I say thanks to the staff.

Delays on commencing the early session can be put down to the fact that the vaccine has not arrived from the hospital, where it is kept under very strict freezer temperatures.

The Sinovac/Coronavac vaccine donated to TRNC by Turkey should be stored in a standard refrigerator at between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius.

As I said it was no big deal waiting in the sunshine, full appreciated it was being stored most likely at the state hospital, just could not understand why it wasn't there at the start of play. At least we had sunshine 🌞, unlike those going today!

We registered on email and the web site as told to do so. Never got any reply to either so went on the 4th of feb to the old municiple building (Opposite Windows Cafe) in Girne and just took a number and waited. Only took three hours to hit our numbers and we were then jabbed and given the card with 4th of March to return for the second jab.

The big question appears to be "Do we know have to book and appointment or just turn up on the day"? I will ask my Turkish buddy as he phoned them for an appointment and went yesterday but have not talked to him since.

It seems that some of the other Vaccine Centers are open to telephone appointments but I have not heard anything about Girne - anybody know???

Waddo, regarding the second jab, I asked the question whilst there and the answer was ring for an appointment a few days before your month is up!

I have been told the number is 0533 870 2010. Does anyone know if that is right? This is for Girne.

We went on the Friday that they stopped doing them. Murphy's law. We rang last week and were asked where we lived and when we said Catalkoy we were told we needed to ring them and go there. Of course there was no one there as the offices were shut. I sent a message on their facebook page and had a reply the next day asking for our details and told we would be sent an appointment.

Still waiting.

Thornaby/Laura B/Chris. When I asked at our first jab in Girne they just said turn up on the date on your card and get a number - hmmm - think things have changed. Don't know if the tel number is the right one but will ask my Turkish mate what number he rang later. As far as I can find out they are not doing any jabs at all at the Catalkoy Belli but again, things change all the time.

Good fun this and trying to translate the latest information on Gov released results for January is even more fun - more so when it is raining and cold outside - lol.

Thanks Waddo. I have just heard from a friend who phoned the number I gave above. She was told no appointments, just turn up at the place you had your 1st jab, which in our case was the Akçiçek hosp. So far as I understand it they no longer are doing it there!!

All good fun and keeps us well occupied in lockdown and rain!
