Appointment at Girne Police Station - Closed!

Went to Girne Police Station for a Residency appointment (& got permission to travel from the Police) only to find that they were closed due to Covid !
Anyone else done the same?
I suppose that I'll wait until they're open again, and just rock up....

Common courtesy prevails in the civil service to inform of a cancelled appointment!
Very rude indeed!

I suspect that it's just a lack of 'joined up' organization.
No less annoying for that, though!

KC, you may well have a car but what about those that do not and attend appointment by taxi? Waste of money for them caused by idle, lazy, inefficient plods!

There is a post under Residency from end of January stating that Residency appointments will continue after lock down as the immigration at police stations are closed.

Those with residence application appointments in Girne and Lefkosa.
The immigration section is closed to appointments. You will be able to take your applications when they re open after lockdown."

Apparently people have had new appointments sent to them and some are now on their third. Only when lockdown ends will the immigration dept be reopened. I think!!!

According to BRS it is open, they suggest you go with your documentation and printout of your original appointment date/time and see if they will accept your documentation. Best get there early...
