Home quarantine begins / New NOTAM releasedThe Ministry of Public Works and Transport has published a three-point NOTAM on the conditions under which those who will come to the island with home quarantine will reach the island and the procedure to be applied at the airport.

All legal preparations for home quarantine for those coming from abroad are complete. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has published a three-point NOTAM on the conditions under which those who will come to the island with home quarantine will reach the island and the procedure to be applied at Ercan Airport.

The announcement, which states that the passengers will come to the island with special permission, consists of three items. The explanation about the application and the new procedure is as follows: 

Notam for Turkish airportsAs of April 12, 2021, the following application will be made for passengers regarding the planes coming to Ercan Airport.

I. Passengers arriving with the special permission of the Ministry of Health will be able to spend their quarantine periods at home or at locations to be approved by the authorities, provided that they use electronic wristbands within the framework of the rules determined by the authorities.

II. The electronic wristband will be used with the mobile application and cannot be used without a smart phone. Passengers are required to download the Stay safe application from the Apple Store or Google Playstore and enter the requested documents and information into the mobile application and show the QR code to the attendant on the phone.

So now you can Home Quarantine, but only if you are over 70 or pregnant or have a medical condition that applies under the new rules! Currently, I don’t see it as a great advantage for many people? Maybe will be better if the rules become more relaxed!

Is it for the original over 70 years etc or for 'swallows' who want to come back for the summer ?

Probably a trial with a smaller number of people to see how things pan out. Hopefully this time, people will abide by the rules, so that others can benefit in the future.

The wrist band quarantine at home is for the former list,(over 70s etc) not for swallows!

Can you use a uk mobile number or does it have to be a local one? Tia

Where do I fit in all this
I could leave the UK on the Stanley Johnson exemption
But need to see where Turkey and Cyprus fall for return quarantine when the travel zones are announced for the UK
I can't get to visit Eire via Northern Ireland yet

wanderer, good job they don't ask about driving license as well - lol. I can see a big re-write coming as people start to figure out how they can actually get here. Just wait and see.....

I read that the 3-night /4-day secure hotel tourism (casinos) will be using the wristbands too.
