Escape beach, new exhibit.

Looks like an old landing craft has been installed, next to the new main road.
I wonder if it is just army surplus or was actually used in 1974 like the tank up on the mountain road.

As it is next to the site of the landings in 1974 I would imagine there is a good chance it could be one similar to those used 47 years ago?

Yes it was used in 74.

Are the Greek tanks and vehicles still next door to the war memorial there ?

I've been watching this whole memorial, since the very first JCB arrived on side to dig out the substructure during the dreadful storms earlier this year. It certainly appears to my untutored eyes to be the genuine article and its fascinating to see in on a day to day basis. Can't wait for the finished article. Going to be a big day when that happens.

It is the genuine article, I asked at Alsancak Belediye, they said it will be part of the museum.
