Same everywhere. Saw a box full of Digestives dropped on the floor last week. Box was opened and all the packets duly put on shelves. In this heat most chocolate biscuits will stick together.

Same with crisps. It happens a lot with Pringles. 2 or 3 whole ones and the rest are in bits

Have you not seen them stacking the shelves? They shove and cram them on the shelves so much they are bound be damaged but they don't care, they aren't buying them! in BestMar, Lapta I once witnessed a lad throwing boxes of Doritos up to another standing on crates to put them on a space on top of the shelves. He threw one box up to the stacker three times because he couldn't catch it and each time it hit the floor with a thud, oh how they laughed. I shook my head and made a mental note.

I can remember when my mother went to the open market to buy a bag of broken biscuits .
That's all she could afford.

Broken biscuits are wonderful. Lets face it, the first thing you do is break it or dunk it. Either way its in pieces.

tbf in the UK the top and bottom biscuits are often broken.
I often wondered why they didn't leave the top one and bottom one out

Maybe not. If you have a guest for elevenses and want to use your best china, a plate of broken biscuits just doesn't cut the mustard.
