i have a few queries..... What tests does the ENT doc do? Does the optician do a full eye test? Does gynae do a smear test?. Does the cost include the follow up appointments to get the test results etc. Thanks

ENT is a consultation, if any tests needed, it is not included in the price. (e.g:swab test)
smear test in not included in the price
Full eye examination
All results are given on the day

Thanks for arranging my booking and I went on Thursday last.
When I booked, I asked if there was a tread mill test and was told that it was not included inn the price.
However when I arrived for my appointment they said that if I had eaten nothing that I could have a blood test
and the tread mill for an extra 50 tl. I thought this was good value and took advantage of it.
Although I have had for a while some pain in my chest on occasions around the sternum area I considered
myself to be OK and healthy. However the tests showed that my blood pressure was very high and my cholesterol
level was 251( I don't know how this equates to the readings in the UK). I was given s prescription for some statins
and some tablets to reduce my blood pressure. I am to return this Friday for an assessment as I was told to monitor
my blood Pressure for a week morning and afternoon. Thankfully my BP has almost returned to normal.
It is obvious to me that things could have turned out badly had I not taken advantage of these fantastic check ups.
I have no problem with you posting this letter to promote good health and hopefully avoid anyone else living in ignorance.
I apart from the occasional pain as mentioned, have no other symptoms to have lead me to think that the results would
have been what they turned out to be.

Have just had my (men's) healthcheck at the Kolan British Hospital. Excellent check up and extremely good value for 210 TL. PB

This check up is excellent and a must for all us oldies ! the Kolan Hospital now also has an excellent English speaking doctor to explain all the results of the tests in detail, and what, if any, medication is needed to help us. Regards Barry

The English speaking doctor is Dr Shelim who also works at the Green Clinic in Girne - she is excellent.

There are also 2 English speaking 'girls', Huri and Zali. who escort you through the check up and ensure there are no language problems. Great service.

Whereabouts is the Kolan Hospital in Lefkosa and how does one arrange a healthcheck?

The hospital, from Girne to Lefkosa, at big roundabout at end of dual carriagway, take third exit. You can see the hospital sign to your right as you approach the roundabout.

Then take outside lane and bear right across on coming carriageway. hospital is about 200 yards on left, you cannot miss the sign!

I have know Zali & Huri for 2 years and they are superb. If you have a query of any sort just ask and they will get answer for you.

Thanks Chris for drawing our attention to this offer. David and I went on Friday and we were very impressed with the check up, the service, very thorough!! And Huri made it all so easy for us. Glad we went as we have discovered high colesterol and a few other problems, but nothing too scary.

We had this check up beginning of June and the 'special offer' you are quoting were the prices on offer at that time. In fact we opted for the full cardio check up at 150TL, rather than the 100TL and the 210TL Check-Up. Anyone considering these checks should book them. The tests are very thorough and you see a consultant after each one and then at the end of the complete check up a doctor goes through all your results. Although the wait is very short in between each test the whole procedure took about 6 hours -a short time to spend if it were to discover something serious. The staff are delightful and speak fluent English should you have any questions, and sit in on the consultation if the doctor is not fluent. Some of these checks would only be available in the UK on NHS if you showed symptoms (some conditions do not give any pain) or the illness was in the family. To have the same full check-up done privately in the UK would be around £500-£600. So don't think about - do it before the price goes up!
