Serious question KC. I have five empty green gas cylinders but actually want to replace with three. The store say they will only exchange like for like. So what can I do with excess. Thought of putting on side of road to be "removed"!!!

you could advertise free on facebook sales or perhaps make them into a bbq/chiminea (lots of upcycle ideas on pinterest etc) failing that do you have a scrap metal guy that comes round your way?

I thought you buy gas and pay deposit for cylinder, won't they give deposit back if returned?

I thought the same, but I had nothing to prove where I bought the gas from. I bought them to take me through winter but haven't got a receipt. Without one, they won't take them back unless you are exchanging them for new and I don't want, or have room for, five. Never mind, they'll go within half an hour at the side of the road. Everything else does!!

I don't know where you keep acquiring them from!

You had an excess of blue bottles the last time!

Stick 'em at the end of your drive, and I'll get the Freedom Sanctuary guys to pick 'em up - they'll find a use for them!

Generally only if you can produce a receipt to prove that you bought them from that particular establishment - at least that was sophie's experience the last time!
