unable to gain entrance to home sized up lock/door due to lack of use any one have information on local lock smith Tatlisu area

Have you tried freeing the lock with wd40. Assuming it's a Euro type lock, some good videos on YouTube showing how to get into doors that have them fitted.

If the pins are sticking, then as long as you can insert the key, after the WD treatment, stick the key in the lock & rest a lump of wood on the lock next to the Key and tap the free end of the wood gently a few times with a stone or something - DON'T HIT THE KEY - you'll bend it!
The pins should settle down onto the key and allow the lock to open.

I've broken an old fashioned type key in a lock and left with the bit you hold. The only way I can think of to get it out is to actually unscrew the whole thing (finger plate and all) from the door and get at it that way. Any other suggestions.

A fine pair of tweezers should help to to work the broken piece out of the lock, very fiddly, but I've done it a couple of times - WD40 helps!
Alternatively there are a few methods demonstrated on YouTube...

Don't think fine tweezers will help, the key is not small and had just been turned to the closed position when the key snapped in half. Will have a look at You Tube though. Thanks.

That's my fear when I come out in 3 weeks time!
You shouldn't use oil of any kind, it attracts dust which can cause further problems. According to my research Graphite Powder is the answer and I have bought and packed some just in case!

If it is a Euro style lock after removing the handle then gripping hold of the lock body with a wrench twisting back and forward will cause the lock to snap in half at the point were the retaing screw is. The lock parts can now be pulled / pushed out. You now have access to the mechanism that will allow the door to open. This is the method a locksmith would use. YouTube it.
