I've cleared out the garage and wondered if the local council have a facility to pick up rubbish from a home?

I'm in Catalkoy district.

Why not ask at the Belediye?

One of the benefits of a forum such as this is sharing information and experience so we all don't have to do the same things over.

We I am I can put anything out and either people take the good stuff or belediye take away with usual rubbish. I guess it should be same in all towns.

I will do that with the smaller stuff - the metals have already gone!

The more bulky things will need proper disposal - my builder/handyman has offered to dump it all in a field but I tried to explain that's not acceptable ('everybody does it' was the reply I got)

Put the bulky stuff outside too, one at a time maybe, you'll be surprised what gets taken.

For builder’s rubble you can hire a skip from Olaytrans or your local Belidiyesi last time we paid 220 tl but they have probably increased in price.
Girne Belediye now have a Whatsapp number for garden rubbish I sent them a photo of our palm bark trimmings & they came to collect it in just over a week - what amazing service!

If you have a lot of rubbish, I.e. to fill a skip. These are available from Girne Belidiyse @ 200 tl for 3 days.
I wasn't aware of their collection service. How much is this and what is their WhatsApp no?

Whatsapp 0542 8521942 I sent photos & my address the bark from 8 palm trees filled a whole lorry.
I am not sure if this is just for garden rubbish though you could check with the general no 0392 6500100 the guy was extremely helpful, he spoke excellent English & there was no mention of any charge
Being in Ozankoy we come under Girne however I do not know about the other Municipalities

So locals took a lot of household stuff that I left out & a council lorry picked up the big stuff - you can ring them and they don't charge.

I would like to confirm what a brilliant service, been using since November on a regular basis. I send photos of the rubbish street name and water bill stating name and address of my customers so they know who to charge and so far collected within 24 hours. Wish all municipalities had this service for requesting their services.
