Flights have been delayed, and British Airways are at present flying out of Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir, not through Ataturk in Istanbul.

THY passengers are advised to call 444 0 849 before setting off to the airport.

Doesn't affect me, I am not going anywhere, just thought someone should say a big thank you to you for all the useful information which you take the trouble to provide.

We were lucky were flying back with Turkish airlines via Istanbul but changed our plans and flew via Antalya with Sun Express and Pegasus.
Must say that both flights were very pleasant with pleasant staff and good aircraft (infact the Pegasus plane was new and although not it's maiden flight it could not of been in service very long)

The snow on the runways in Istanbul (see below) has caused not just the delay, but the cancellation of flights in and out of Ercan.

In the report it just mentions the cancellation of THY flights. If travelling THY, then call the number given in post 1 before leaving for the airport.

To make it clear, these cancellations are not because of snowy weather in Ercan, but in Istanbul.

By the look of things, we can expect disruption due to bad weather at UK airports soon. We are flying Munich - Stansted next Friday, hope we will be OK too. Snow just restarted here today
