Even if you have had 2 jabs, if they were not administered in UK by NHS you will still be subject to 10 days home quarantine in the UK (from amber and green countries) or same in quarantine hotel (from red countries).

There is a UK government online petition open with over 24,000 signatures already to allow ALL expats to visit UK without quarantining.

I don't see what this petition will achieve as the Government has said it will bring in no quarantine rules for all double vaccinated people in due course. It makes sense to test the system first, take the horrendous queues at Larnaca and multiply it by how many just for Heathrow.

Unfortunately, they will probably allow it just in time for ROC to become Red in UK so then we have to hope Turkey will go back to Amber. We were hoping to go to UK next month but it's becoming increasingly difficult, especially now that UK and ROC are going to be Red in TRNC from 12th July so will require self isolation /quarantine regardless of return route and vaccination status.

If Cyprus goes on UK red list and Turkey goes to amber the best way out may be 10 days in Turkey first. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that

I believe you are classed as coming from Turkey if you travel TRNC to UK via Turkey. Only classed as Cyprus if you travel via ROC. Best (or worst) of both worlds

The U.K. government is allowing its citizens who have received a double vaccine in the U.K. to return from amber listed countries without quarantine. This is a new move and will offer support and assistance to the travel industry.

It has already been announced that the U.K. government is looking at the data around vaccines administered overseas and if satisfied with the effectiveness of the vaccine will also permit entry without quarantine.

A sensible approach IMO.

Long term there really has to be a much more joined up approach by all countries. The key is getting fully vaccinated. Plus also having a quick, cost effective test system in place before and after travel. The U.K. is easing almost all restrictions on 19 July, the affects will be watched carefully by many countries. There has to be an exit strategy, Covid will have to be lived with. Lockdowns, restrictions are unsustainable.
