Not sure if many are aware of this issue regarding the need for self isolation in the uk if you have not had an NHS jab. The rules have not changed for the majority of expats. I am Ok as double jabbed by NHS but my sister had on jab in Greece and one in UK and will have to self isolate on return for as long as these regs last.

The UK government, via Grant Schapps, did say that they were going to approve non-UK vaccines, approved by the WHO, in the near future to allow international tourists to be quarantine free. Let's hope they do it before Parliament closes for the summer recess!

I can understand them treating no-UK tourists differently, but at the moment they are discriminating against a class of UK citizens, who have most liely had the vaccines from the same Pfizer, Moderna and AZ factories as the rest of Europe.

The issue is more about the security of any documentation that may be required after having had the vaccine administered overseas. Sadly many fake documents around. It is no different to the strict requirements of other countries such as Australia and New Zealand.

However; it does seem likely that this rule will change in the next few weeks which is of course good news for all those who have had a double vaccination of a vaccine recognised by the WHO.

It really is all about getting a double vaccination; if at all possible, to not only allow ease of travel but to reduce greatly the chances of contracting the virus and having a very severe reaction.
