PCR test to return to Uk

We are in TRNC now and return to UK on Monday from Larnaca.
I understand that we will have to have a PCR test within 3 days of our flight to travel.
Can anyone tell me where near Alsancak we can have these done to the requirements needed for travel.
Thanks

So far as I know you can get from Erduran lab by Bellapais traffic lights or Dr Suat Gunsel hospital in Karakum.
Does one need just a print out of the result or do they require the signed certificate from the hospital?

Can you just turn up at these places do you know or do you need to book an appointment?

No appointment Marc. We called Erduran and they said just turn up. They were exceedingly busy at the beginning of the week but now that the rules changed here about vaccinated people not needing a pcr for indoor venues etc I think it is all a bit quieter. My stepson is flying to UK on Saturday so he has gone today to see if he can get his test. If not it will have to be a very early start tomorrow to get him there by 8am.

All the information should be here.
Please let us know how your stepson gets on, I am flying back Monday and wondering the best time to go and get tested.

Thanks for the link Maisie. It looks like we will have to traipse back to the clinic to get the original. What a nuisance.
I will let you know how he gets on.

Just an update. He has been to Erduran for his test. No queues. All very easy. 200TL. He has to return for the original test result as it is the stamp which is the requirement. It will be ready by about 5.30pm today and they will text him so we shall pick it up in the morning ready for his departure on Saturday morning.

Thank you Laura,
Thought test results came back a lot quicker than that so we will have to go and have the test, come back and then have to return latter in the day. But we have to do what we have to do,don’t want to have problems at the airport.
Do the local test you can get at the Council offices not allow you to travel?

I don't know if local tests provide the ''stamp'' which is needed for travel Marc which is why we went for the private option. So far as I understand the local tests text you the result but no printout. However I am not sure if that is the case.

Thank you Laura
Great information. Unsure if there are too many hoops for me this year.
Flight back home PCR.
Two day turn around stamp required 200tl per person.

We paid 150tl each as members of BRS if they ask just say you are no checks made

Yes Marc. If you go early morning you can pick up results in the afternoon. We only left it until next day as it's a long trip for us.

My friend checked and was told that the testing centre is open 7 days a week and during Bayram.

Interesting new development.
Now I'm not slagging off Primark, its a go to shop to buy cheap T shirts for a holiday, but as I don't always have 100% faith that their T shirts are going to last the two week holiday..............
I mean its been a bit of a culture shock over here getting most of my medical advice off the chemist who in England I'd barely trust to develop my holiday snaps but this might be a step too far.

I don’t think Primark have gone into making the vaccination to sell in their stores

. The staff are not giving the jab!
The premises are being used as a pop up for those people who still haven’t taken up the jab. All sorts of venues are being used. Local chemist at Sandwich in Kent for the golf tournament being used. Think you knew this anyway

Saw the headline and it tickled me.
Whatever training the staff might get, the queues are terrible at the best of times...

Queues, no one worries about the queues, when you’ve got 20 items for £10, that’s a lot of folding to do, plus putting them in the brown paper designer bag!

I remember my debut in Primark some years ago.
I said to my daughter who wanted some clothes do a trolly dash and I'll pay.
"Try and keep it to a hundred quid or thereabouts."
I joined her at the queue where she had about 3 of those wire things they use to carry stuff.
My first thought was "she has totally knocked the boollox out of this and give them an inch...."
It was about thirty quid and she then said "can we do Top Shop now."
Didn't know whether to laugh or cry tbh.

Just as an update,
Went to Dr Suat Hospital yesterday at 9.30 am and had our PCR test done.
Went out for the day and returned at 5pm and collected the stamped test results and all good.
Was 150tl and no queues, all very easy.
Thanks for the help and advice.

Yes no problem ginge. My stepson found no difficulty in the south either at the border or airport check-in. I have read tales of single and/or elderly people being harassed for having a test in the north but a bit of shouting about human rights etc seems to make the officials see sense!

Does anyone know where to get a PCR test in Iskele, Famagusta area?
Thanks

If you register online, you can have a free PCR test at Tip Merkezi or a free antigen test at the laboratory next to Yasham Hospital. They both are in Famagusta.
If you go to Yasham Hospital they will do it right away for a fee (I think it's around 200TL) so is Tip Merkezi (not sure about the price).
I am sure there are other places but I only know about these three for sure.
I hope this helps.
