Eating outdoors at Sunset is probably the best solution. If you have issue with wasps at lunch time, then sorry I have no solution to offer, apart from eating indoors.

You could Google “plants to deter wasps”.

You may find you already have a plant to try at your table, in your garden.

Wasps don’t like herbs, so Mint, Eucalyptus. Citronella Candle on the table and cover food.

I e got a wasps nest on my front villa ground floor balcony . I'd like to just leave it as they will die in a few months . The wife's not too keen . The flowers are doing well this year....

Outside garden fan in direction of table may help.

Wasps are attracted to coffee... but burning coffee grounds makes wasps, mosquitos and all flying insects scarper. I save coffee grounds and lace them with a cap full of saf ispirto (rubbing alcohol) and burn it in an incense burner, haven't needed to this year so far but it does work, the smoke triggers their response to forest fires.
