I thank you very much for your reply, but it is obvious that you have not thought about it.
I stated bright flashes in the sky which should indicate to you that it was dark. Assume darkness at approximately 7.30 pm and bedtime at approximately 10.30 pm.check with your calculator ,this gives you approximately 3 hours. I know it was Saturday night but assuming that you were sober this should give you a very good idea of the time.
If you can't help with friendly information, pease don't bother to write again.

What a stunner for a third post, just the sort of superior attitude that loses you any friends before you acquire them! They are more like you on the NC uncut FB page, you will feel at home there.

I didn’t notice any flashes in the sky. Perhaps lightning out towards Turkey?

Tonight l saw a wonderful shooting star falling just like a firework rocket, looking to the north. It looked to fall straight down to the sea.

Ok!!! I have learned to say what part of the island I live in. But if you happen to look towards Turkey or turn towards the mountains you may see the lights at that point. Just say if you saw any lights. "May the force be with you"!!!!!!!!!!!

Iancrumpy, perhaps it is in reference to plumsmum’s 42nd post? Which, coincidently, is post number 3 in this thread!

Me too! But maybe by "42nd post" Jofra is predicting the final number of posts on this thread, ie because things got a bit heated between the posters. And in us having this discussion we're helping it on its way to that "42" posts.

OK, I remember this one now. There was or still is a glitch in the system. I think this only happened to this member. Tried everything to sort out but without any joy.

And so, back to the subject, to me it looked like lightening as Turkey did get some rain, not that anyone cares too much, too busy point scoring.... again..

The Perseid meteor display starts on 'The Glorious 12th', so good watching after having eaten the grouse and guzzling a good port outside enjoying the air show!
