Applied for my renewal a few weeks ago, wanted to ask how long on average does it take to move from the Immigration is evaluating your application to the tax office stage.
We visitied the medical clinic on the 17Sept for the blood and TB test, the application moved on from the clinic stage to the Immigration is evaluating your application process on the 23rd Sept. Its been about a week now that we have been stuck on the immigration Dept stage. How long on average does this process take?

It's taking ages. I paid for health insurance on 3rd August and still at 60% where Immigration is evaluating my application. A friend was a few weeks ahead of me and has just got theirs.

Thanks for letting me know, I really don't understand what takes so long?
Immigration have all their work done for them, they simply need to approve the process!

Ive been here for over 10 years now. Untill this year, the process at immigration has always taken 2 weeks at worst. You'd get the medical done, then in 2 weeks go to Lefkosia and they would stamp a year in your passport.

The main problem recently seems to be that the departments keep getting shut down due to Covid outbreaks, some parts of immigration currently closed until Tuesday for that reason. Also since last October, everyone has been forced to apply for residency, so they have simply been inundated with applications and the resulting tsunami of telephone enquiries and visits. Maybe they didn't fully comprehend the numbers living here without residency.
We've been doing residency for 16 years, and apart from the first application, when it took 3 months, we've always been able to complete our new application before our old residency ran out. Last year using the online system it took 3 weeks which I was quite impressed with. Knowing all the problems they face currently I'm expecting it to be like the first time all over again.
If you are in desperate need you can contact them to try to speed things up, that's worked for others. You may have to make an appointment though.

You can only apply 21 days before expiry. When ready you will see a renew button when you log into the system, click that and you will be asked about type of residency application, income/savings and number of years you want. You will need to delete the old muhtar's letter then upload a copy of a current one.

Go to residency dept in Lefkosa, I did as the SBA border told me to get it sorted or would not let me cross. Went in, loads of people with 60% query, after half hour queue, lady saw old residency, went behind screen, came back within a minute and said 3pm today, low and behold 3pm I was asked for my money and got my residency.

I have been at the same stage as you (60%) since mid July. Very frustrating.
