Paying rental tax online
I have been given my password and user code to pay rental tax online. However when I go into the system I am not sure what selections I should make for this payment. I chose Rental withholding tax which took me to another screen and then from the dropdown box I chose income tax but it said I had no debt outstanding.
Has anyone paid on line successfully and if so how?
My first rental tax is for the month of September, could it be that I am trying to pay too early?

If you have not confirmed the rent that you have declared, as I have done before, then there will be no debt outstanding. The deadline for September rent is October 15. After that there is a small penalty (3%) when I was a day late in paying because I was not able to find the debt outstanding.

Re: Paying rental tax online
Waterline, how do I confirm and declare the rent? The tenancy agreement has been stamped at the Tax office so they know how much rental tax should be paid. Do I have to state how much I should pay when I am doing it online? Thanks for any help you can give.waterline wrote: ↑Mon 04 Oct 2021 7:44 amIf you have not confirmed the rent that you have declared, as I have done before, then there will be no debt outstanding. Mowgli597.
My landlord lives in the UK. I pay the tax on his behalf. That means a visit to the tax office. I enquired about online payment but was told it is only available to the actual Landlord.

I use Google Chrome because it can translate to English. Under E-declaration, choose Save Draft. Under Declaration, check Kira and click Select at the bottom. Select September for the period and then click OK. Then you will get a Withdrawal of Rental Income Statement. Check that the General Information is correct. Then go to the next tab and click on Real Estate Inquiry to enter the rental income which will also have the address of the rental property. Select the currency and the tax will be calculated. For subsequent months, if nothing changes, you can click on Fetch Information from Previous Period. Click Save and Check and then under Declaration, select the category you are in (I am tax obligor). Save and Check again and look for an Approve button at the bottom. Then go to Collection and click on the Search button, followed by Find (for all but in your case and mine there is only one). Click on the document number and then upload payment plan. Payment is by credit card (debit card does not work). I seem to be getting better at getting through this. It is not as straight forward as it could be I think. Good luck with the process.cjtill wrote: ↑Tue 05 Oct 2021 6:19 amWaterline, how do I confirm and declare the rent? Waterline, I have just tried and unfortunately fallen at the first hurdle. I went into save draft but there is no Kira to check. Any ideas please?

In Save Draft there are 2 boxes to the left of Declaration that have horizontal lines in them. Click the box on the left, check Kira and scroll down and click Select. I learned how to use my screenshot extension but unfortunately am unable to post images unless I start a new post. Hope it works smoothly for you from here on but if not, I will try to help.

Re: Paying rental tax online
Thanks for your help waterline but nothing will work at the moment. I managed to phone a really helpful gentleman at the Tax office yesterday who phoned me on whatsapp so he could see the screen. He checked it all out and said there wasn't any information on their system about my rental. I said that I had registered my tenancy agreement at the tax office and paid the stamp duty and told them I wanted to pay the rental tax online. They issued me with a user number and password. Apparently what they omitted to tell me was that I have to declare the rent! The gentleman I spoke to said I had to go to the tax office to do that. Goodness knows what that involves but will give it a go this morning. I would have thought that when they put the information into the computer at the time of stamping the contract that would give the information required but heyho off to the tax office again.

Re: Paying rental tax online
I have just been to the tax office to ask about declaring rent. They took all my paperwork and spent ages putting the information in the system and then gave me a new user number and password. I have just tried to access the site on line and although I have got a bit further they seem to have added somebody else's property as well as my own. This is a nightmare. I will now have to go back to the tax office to get them to delete the other property from my record.

Re: Paying rental tax online
Been back to the Tax office about this extra property on my records and finally found out that it is a system error and it is on most people's records. Told to ignore it. Very worrying but eventually got to pay my rental tax on line. It is not an easy system and whether I will remember how to do it again next month I am not sure.
