Hi looking for some info with regards to the laws for riding motorbikes here.
What are the laws here regarding bikes and engine sizes.
How do you go about getting a full bike licence, what is involved?
Can you ride a bike with a full car driving licence, and if yes up to what size engine.

Any helpful info appreciated

Regards

skeeds200.

A motor bike or scooter over 150cc needs a full motor bike licence.

I did mine through Ozbek driving school on the road up to the Wednesday market, you will need passport photos your UK licence.
Mr Ozbeck will apply for a provisional licence for you. this costs about 150 TL for 6 months.
You have to have a local provisional to apply for the test;
He will tell you to drive your motor bike or scooter for about 4 months with L plates , then he will apply for your test.
The test is easy, use the UK standards and you will be fine, ie look over your shoulder, mirror signal move, then look over your shoulder again. you will have to drive down the road for a couple of hundred meters and return, job done.
Mr Ozbeck will send your Cypriot licence off to have the bike licence added, if it is a UK licence he will get you a Cypriot licence with what is on your UK licence.
Hope this is of some use, it is like everything here it is not cheap but worth it.

I can drive a hire car with my UK driving licence.
If there are hire motorbikes here, can I do the same?

Might as well make that into a question as well. Are there any hire bikes available here?

HI Chris,
The answer is yes as long as the bike or scooter is under 150 cc.
If you have a UK motor bike licence then there is no limit on size.
This rule is for people who live here and have to have a local licence.
