Tarmacing a drive

Has anyone experience of having their tiled driveway tarmaced over the tiles? Our drive is quite bumpy and short of having the whole lot taken up, levelled and relaid, I wondered if there was an alternative ie tarmac with it being thicker where needed to provide a level surface. If anyone has, is it good and what expense?

If by tiles, you mean the concrete interlocking blocks used for most footpaths and drives. Then i would say that lifting the blocks and having them re layed by someone who knows what they are doing would be a better alternative than tarmac.

I agree and the carbon footprint is substantially lower too...

Is that just plain concrete or coloured and patterned poured and stamped as is quite normal to find in the RoC these days?

Just plain have not got the stamps or moulds don’t know anybody doing that here. Can tile on top if needed but to tarmac a drive is very very expensive. It’s not like uk when the travelers come round on the knocker and ask if you want your drive tarmaced guv that never sets so walk it in and out your house for ever

Geoff1113. Do you know anyone who does the lifting and relaying. We are having the same problem with sunken bricks which means horrible puddles after it has rained.
