Does anyone know when the old £20 notes legal tender runs out

Saw a government travel notice that said Turkey were not accepting them so I would asume that it will filter through to TRNC

As of 13 October 2021, Turkish banks will no longer accept the old style £20 and £50 sterling banknotes. Some exchange booths may still accept these banknotes, but there is no guarantee and you may be charged an extra commission.

Strewth, I didn't know about both the twenty and fifty. Didn't see that in C2D anywhere, is it just Turkish banks or Turkish and TRNC banks.

The notice is for Turkey doubt foreign office looks at TRNC banking

In other words, all banks other than Garanti, TEB, Secker and one other that I can't remember (Turkish Banks) will continue to accept both 20 and 50 sterling notes.?

You can never tell here though can you? Not that long ago they wouldn't accept notes that had writing on them despite the fact they came out of their ATM.

Recently changed our old £ notes into Euros.

What percentage did you lose in commission.

I checked online and the rate for £ to Euro was 1.18...I got Euro 1.16 at the local Dovis so was OK with that.
